On October 25, 2024, four baby cottontail rabbits arrived after being found scattered on a school field. They appeared in good condition.

They were started on a five-day course of Baytril and meloxicam on the chance that they had been removed from their nest by a cat. They received a diluted formula 4:1 for the next two feedings and moved up gradually to full strength 2:1.

At only 33 to 34 grams each (about 1.2 ounces), they were not gaining an appropriate amount of weight by day three, and digestive issues were developing. They were then moved to EmerAid IC Herbivore.

Digestive issues immediately improved, and weight gain was noted by day four. By day six, they had moved back to formula with a daily supplemental feeding of EmerAid .

This was continued for the rest of their development as they continued to gain weight and thrive. Finally, they were fully weaned and released at 125 grams (about 4.4. ounces) on November 25, 2024.
