Peregrine Falcon Recovers After Being Struck By A Car

peregrine falcon flyingThe following story was shared with us by The Raptor Trust in New Jersey.

This male peregrine falcon came to the Raptor Trust after being struck by a car. It had a fracture in its elbow and was not stable enough for food when it arrived.

We tube-fed him EmerAid IC Carnivore three times a day until he had stabilized enough to have solid food. He spent a few weeks inside with his wing splinted, but was soon ready for some physical therapy.

We moved him to our large outdoor flight cage where he could exercise and regain his stamina. This bird made an excellent recovery and was recently released.
