Laughing Gull Unable To Fly Or Stand

In late January, this juvenile laughing gull was found lying on the ground not able to fly or stand.

Our intake exam found that she was a little hypothermic and emaciated. We initially started her on fluids and supplemental heat.

After she stabilized, we started administering EmerAid IC Piscivore and fluids. After a day of EmerAid, we graduated her to a fish smoothie diet and then whole fish. She did well, and we moved her outside where she immediately started bathing and working on her flight muscles.

She was released two weeks after intake!
