This barred owl was struck by a vehicle one night. He was found by the side of the road by someone who was kind enough to keep him safe overnight. The owl was brought to our center the next morning.

He had head trauma as well as being emaciated. After a thorough examination the owl was started on pain medications, and we began tubing EmerAid IC Carnivore. The EmerAid provides essential nutrients to emaciated animals, which allows them to gain weight at a healthy rate.

This owl was tube-fed for one week before being weaned off of the EmerAid and onto whole mice.

After being given enough time inside, with pain management, the owl moved out to practice his flight before release!
