Our wildlife center received a great horned owl nestling that was displaced from his nest near a residential area in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania on April 2, 2023.

Luckily for him, despite being emaciated at only 576 grams (a little over 20 ounces), dehydrated, and having a mild bacterial infection, he was in relatively good health.

After a course of antibiotics, subcutaneous fluids, and a regimen of EmerAid IC Carnivore due to his body condition, he was ready to be return to his nest.
