Emaciated Red-Tailed Hawk Gets Help

In July we received a red-tailed hawk that was emaciated upon admission into our center.

We initially started with EmerAid IC Carnivore mixed and tube fed to begin calorie intake and use caution for refeeding syndrome.

After a few days of tube feeding we slowly introduced solid digestible meat. The red-tailed hawk didn’t respond well to this introduction, so once again we backed off to fully tubing of the EmerAid mix for roughly a week.

At that time the hawk was able to process solid meats and progress to whole foods after another week.

Wolf Hollow is so grateful this product exists to help wildlife rebound while in a rehabilitation setting.
