This November, a starving Northern fulmar was rescued from Sausalito, California, and brought into care at International Bird Rescue’s San Francisco Bay Wildlife Center from our partners at Wildcare.

Upon arrival, the patient was hypothermic with a temperature below 102 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, the bird was dehydrated and emaciated.

This fulmar was immediately started on a hydration and nutrition plan with tubings of EmerAid IC Piscivore. After one full day of nutritional and thermal support, this fulmar quickly recovered and began eating everything in sight.

Two weeks later, this fulmar had fully recovered and was released back to the wild, thanks to the initial critical care provided and help from EmerAid IC Piscivore.
