Emaciated Mink Saved From Death

mink looking ill lying on clothThe following story about a mink was shared with us by the Nashville Wildlife Conservation Center.

We got a call about a mink that was barely alive. He was occasionally crying, but breathing slowly and barely moving.

When we got him in, he was severely dehydrated and hypoglycemic (see photo showing him on his side on gray fabric).

We were able to stabilize him, and transitioned him onto EmerAid IC Carnivore. He eventually took that (and only that) out of a dish.

EmerAid is all he would eat for about a week. He gained about 200 grams (about 7 ounces) the first week alone (see photo of face peeking out).
