Eastern Screech Owl Recovers From Fracture

eastern screech owl with bandaged wing held in handThe following story about an eastern screech owl was shared with us by the Avian Conservation Center in South Carolina.

When an eastern screech owl was found on the side of a rural road, it was clear she needed immediate help. Weak and unable to fly, she was brought to our clinic, where we discovered she had a fractured right coracoid and was severely emaciated.

Her condition was dire, but we were determined to give her the best chance at recovery.

To support her in those critical first days, we turned to EmerAid IC Carnivore to provide the vital nutrition her body needed to heal. This specialized diet helped her regain strength while minimizing the stress of digestion on her fragile state.

Slowly but surely, her energy began to return, allowing her to start physical rehabilitation and eventually transition to a normal diet.

Thanks to EmerAid and our team’s dedication, this resilient little owl made a full recovery. She was successfully released back into the wild, ready to reclaim her place in the forest.

Stories like hers highlight the incredible role advanced nutrition plays in saving lives and giving wild patients a second chance.
