The following story about a cottontail rabbit was shared with us by Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Florida.

An infant Eastern cottontail rabbit was admitted after a dog destroyed its nest, leaving the baby orphaned and underweight at just 45 grams (about 1.6 ounces). The patient was quiet and dehydrated on intake, requiring supportive care and assisted feeding during rehabilitation.

Using EmerAid Sustain Herbivore, staff provided critical nutritional support while the bunny recovered and transitioned to eating greens independently.

Over the course of care, the rabbit steadily gained weight to 144.5 grams (about 5 ounces) and was successfully released back to the wild.
