The following story about a brown house snake was submitted by Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital in South Africa.
This brown house snake (Boaedon capensis) was caught by a cat, and sustained multiple injuries, in particular to her skull and face. We suspect that the cat had bitten right through her skull.
As a result of this severe brain trauma, she had neurological injuries and could not move in a straight line and had a head tilt.
She was placed on fluid therapy, anti-inflammatories, pain medication, antibiotics, and carefully tube-fed with EmerAid IC Carnivore.
We are happy to share that she is healing well and is almost back to her normal self! Once she is as close to 100% as possible, she will be released in a safe area.
