Brown House Snake Injured By Cat

The following story about a brown house snake was submitted by Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital in South Africa.

After what appears to have been a cat catch, this brown house snake (Boaedon capensis) was lucky enough to arrive at Bird and Exotic Animal Hospital to be nurtured back to health. Dr. Dorianne and team sedated the snake, and attended to the wounds.

A month later, the snake has healed well, and is now with us. We have removed any remaining stitches.

While not eating on his own initially, this snake was tube-fed with EmerAid IC Carnivore.

We are hopeful for a successful release soon.
