Bald Eagle With Shoulder Injury

This young adult bald eagle came to us from Port Orange, Florida. On intake, the bird was thin at 2.5 kilograms body weight (about 5.5 pounds) and suffered from a shoulder injury.

We began tube-feeding the bird 90 milliliters of EmerAid IC Carnivore twice daily until the bird was eating on its own.

The bird was transferred to another facility for continued care when it was at a healthy body weight (3 kilograms, about 6.6 pounds).
