Emaciation and hypothermia are common symptoms of young patients that come into the clinic. When this juvenile anhinga was admitted, he had a dangerously low body temperature and was very emaciated.

After some time in an incubator, the bird’s temperature finally stabilized, and we were able to treat him with fluids.

EmerAid IC Piscivore played an important role in providing the necessary calories and nutrients for this little anhinga until he was strong enough to digest fish.

After a couple of weeks, he was flipping fish in the air and catching them, and we knew it was time for him to have a second chance back out in the wild.
