Two Canada Geese Get Lead Poisoning After Being Shot

two Canada geese in outdoor enclosureThe following story about Canada geese was shared with us by All Species Kinship (A.S.K.) of Michigan.

Two Canada geese were separately admitted with inability to walk or fly. Both were tested in-house for lead toxicosis, and found with pellets inside of them from being shot.

These Canada geese had no appetites upon admission. We ascertained they had stopped eating for at least a few days prior to admission.

EmerAid IC Omnivore was gavaged on both for four days until they were able to begin eating on their own again.
