Turkey Vulture Struck By Car Recovers

The following story was shared with us by Napa Wildlife Rescue in California.

This turkey vulture was found by the side of the road with blood in her nares. We suspect she was hit by a car. A rescue volunteer picked her up. Because a vulture’s defense is projectile vomiting, it’s a brave person who will rescue a vulture!

The turkey vulture spent several days very weak and unable to feed herself, as seen in the photo. EmerAid Intensive Care Carnivore helped her transition to real food, and now she is in a flight aviary getting ready for release.
