The following story about a red-tailed hawk was shared with us by Wildcare Eastern Sierra in California.

This red-tailed hawk was found grounded at a ranch in Mammoth Lakes, California. The manager of the ranch transported him to Wildcare Eastern Sierra. Wildcare Eastern Sierra did an exam and found that he was emaciated at only 700 grams (about 1.5 pounds). Following our emaciation protocol, he was started on fluids and EmerAid IC Carnivore.

Over the next few days he was slowly weaned back onto a solid food diet. He spent the next month at Wildcare Eastern Sierra regaining the weight that he had lost. He was then released back to the wild.
