Feeding Finches In The Indoor Aviary

We are a nonprofit, wildlife rehabilitation organization based in Decatur, Georgia. Our mission is to rehabilitate and release injured and/or orphaned songbirds.

In May, we promoted a group of finches that had grown up with us from babies to juveniles. We moved them all into our indoor aviary where we continue to offer them formula every couple of hours. We can assess the weaning process based upon who wants to be fed.

Our protocols require that we weigh all baby birds on intake and monitor weight gain over time. Our finch baby bird formula uses EmerAid IC Carnivore as a key ingredient to assist with the weight gain and nutrition needed to facilitate a bird’s development.

We receive a large volume of calls to rescue and rehabilitate finches. In fact, finches are in the top five bird species that receive care from us.
