Cats Who Survived The Silverton Cat Rescue Fire

On January 7, 2023, a fire occurred at the home of the Palms, which is also home to the Silverton Cat Rescue in Oregon. Vivian, who runs the rescue, notes that of 30 cats there at the time, 19 perished and 11 were saved. She posted this information in a February 8 update at a GoFundMe campaign to benefit the rescue.

“We will honor the cats that died January 7th, by continuing to rescue cats,” Vivian writes.

Guacamole and Toes are two of the cats who survived the fire. Vivian especially requested that people keep Guacamole in their thoughts, because he’s still at the emergency vet in Silverton. “It is a miracle that he survived the fire.”

Kristen, a vet tech in Silverton, gave this update on the fire aftermath and Guacamole and Toes. “Silverton Cat Rescue suffered a devastating fire. I fostered the surviving burn victims.
